Well, it’s good to be home for the Holidays with family and friends after a long tour.
2012 was a great year and I covered a lot of territory in the old Pontiac to say the least. I am excited to be working with a new label, Cloverdale Music. It was great to return to the West Coast as a solo act , we had plenty of time to stop and enjoy the scenery in NorCal in between shows. We had great shows at the Viper Room in Hollywood, Long Beach, Big Sur. Lestats in San Diego and, well, I could ramble on for quite a while. Texas is in my sights next. I hop back on a plane next week to return to my former home state and birthplace of my son. I lived in Austin for quite a while and its always good to go back for a taste of good food and music. I was there briefly for SXSW last year but regretfully had little time to catch up with everyone.
I’ve been working up some arrangements for the tunes off of my new release Greenwood. A lot of these tunes where written or ” finished” in the studio which is an unusual occurrence for me. It’s been great watching folks hear these songs for the first time and when I hit the mark it makes it all worthwhile. We are filling in more dates and radio spots but for the most part the trip is settled and I’m looking forward to having my good buddy John Duer as a sideman on bass and harmony. He is a true road warrior and to say he is talented is an understatement.
Here’s a quick rundown of the Tour with more dates to be added. Finally, I’d like to say thanks to everyone who has helped me move this forward in 2012 and on this tour.
More good stuff in the works, too, I assure you and perhaps I’ll have a story or two for you next blog entry.

After a chance meeting with Roy Acuff, Stevie (then, a young man) was certain he would always be a musician. Almost three decades later, he has become an accomplished performer and songwriter. Stevie has now released five solo albums and several music videos, produced music with his 1980s swamp rockabilly band, The Tombstones, and made appearances all over the world.Stevie’s band mates, over the years, have been a veritable whos who of underground and nationally recognized players, featuring members of Circus of Power, Wilco, the Georgia Satellites, and Jason & The Scorchers. Priding himself in his ability to cross genres, he has also had the honor of sharing the bill with the likes of Leon Russell, the Stray Cats, Greg Allman, Willie Nelson, Drive By Truckers, Johnny Bush & the Ramones, just to name a few. He is currently living in Upstate New York with his wife and child when not touring. Stevie is presently publicizing his most current release Greenwood, an autobiographical account of his life as a father, husband and traveling musician.
