LIVE in KY: El Masivo, Seven Limbs & OpossumHoller

VintageQueen54 brings the Live Music from the heart of Kentucky.

Last December, two of four El Masivo band members came back home to Kentucky to visit family.  The band decided to get together to do a couple “reunion” shows while in town and we attended both.  The shows were hosted at Tidballs on December 22nd and at Spillway Bar & Grill on December 27th in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Because everyone was scattered and travel plans had to be made, arranging the details of the show took about a month of correspondences, but the end result was well worth the efforts of a savvy “middle man” who shall remain unnamed.

El Masivohas been a favorite local band for several years and both shows pulled in great crowds.Jonathan Treadway is the front-man and handles lead vocals and shakin’ for El Masivo.  He’s damn good at both.Self described as a “Word farmer, the church of shake and rock n roll”, here is a piece from his Facebook bio:  ”I was born a preacher’s son in the panic pastures of Kentucky.  I’m a jazz freak, a vinyl collector, an ex- preacher, an avid reader.  I also rock a burly beard, support local music.  I am a poet and a painter and a rock n roll singer and sometimes mumble to myself and sing Tony Bennett songs in the grocery store and quote Chris Farley and Arthur Rimbaud. My first chapbook collection of poetry called  ”The Blue Life Sketches”  is out and can be purchased at
